We had a blast putting the solar panel together, and my daughter loved testing it in direct sunlight. It even worked indoors using the battery backup, which was a nice surprise. A solid, fun kit for a rainy afternoon.

My son was thrilled when the rover finally started moving under the kitchen window light, and the fact that it switches to battery when clouds roll in means he can keep playing all afternoon. The solar panel is surprisingly sturdy for a kids' kit, too.

The dual power option is a lifesaver—we tested it on a cloudy afternoon with the battery and the next sunny day let the solar panel take over completely. My son loved figuring out how the gearbox made the wheels roll, and the assembly felt genuinely rewarding rather than frustrating.
