My daughter picked up the running stitch in about ten minutes, which says a lot about how clear the instructions are. The wooden hoop holds the fabric tight enough that she doesn't get frustrated.

The instruction booklet is nicely laid out, so my daughter could work through each stitch without me hovering. She’s already finished two small patterns and is asking for more thread, which says a lot for an 8-year-old’s attention span.

My eight-year-old got the hang of it after one afternoon, and the stitches held up well even after she practiced on scraps. The kit’s design makes it easy to see what you’re doing, and the pieces are just the right size for small hands.
